Borders are meant to be crossed

Borders are meant to be crossed
for (a promise of) better wages
better futures for our children.
The U.S. endows the right to as-
semble, protects the right to bear
arms. What about my right to
put my arms around my baby
when she cries? Borders are
meant to be transcended,
human rights protected. You
trample, transgress, erode,
erase. We transcend, resist,
rise up.

2019. Borders Are Meant to Be Crossed. Cross-stitch on fabrics dyed with

by Iviva Olenick. 41″x110.25″.
