Crowd-Sourcing Brooklyn Indigo Farming

Japanese indigo buds, one month after transplantation in South Park Slope, Brooklyn.

The video below details my 2017 experiments cultivating Japanese and tropical indigo from seed to (almost) dye in Brooklyn, NY. Initial funding from Puffin Foundation West with in-kind support from Wyckoff Farmhouse, Brooklyn, NY.

In February, I will begin distributing seeds for indoor planting in sunny spots in New York City. Email me at ivivaolenick@gmail.com if you have a sunny spot for seeding or an outdoor spot for transplanting buds in May.
