Here, I bend, twist and recontextualize words we commonly associate with glass (breakable, transparent, clear, fragile, delicate) and fiber (domestic, spinsterish, traditional, conservative, quaint, womenâ€™s work) to show how those same words reveal our assumptions about each other based on race, age, ethnicity, country of origin, native language.

Crowd-Sourcing Brooklyn Indigo Farming

The video below details my 2017 experiments cultivating Japanese and tropical indigo from seed to (almost) dye in Brooklyn, NY. Initial funding from Puffin Foundation West with in-kind support from Wyckoff Farmhouse, Brooklyn, NY.
